Hello Grant Street Family!
I wanted to take some time to update you on our progress in evaluating the missions efforts of our church.
Most of you already know that late last year we selected a missions team to help plan and evaluate the missions strategy for Grant Street. The team has already met twice in 2019 and is working hard. Our meetings have focused on a biblical mission strategy based on Acts 1:8.
We have three major ‘Great Commission Actions’ that we want to promote: praying, giving, and going. Our long term goal is to see Grant Street engaged in all three actions locally, regionally, and internationally. When it comes to giving, we believe that we are already ahead of schedule. Our church has been involved for a long time in giving to the cooperative program of the Southern Baptist Convention and donating generously to missions organizations like the North American Mission Board and the International Mission Board.
The immediate focus of the team is to engage our church in praying for specific missionaries, church plants, and missions organizations. In April, the team will supply the church with a “Missions Prayer Guide” for the month. The team is also working to promote our upcoming Good Friday Community Dinner and the Annie Armstrong Easter Offering. The Annie Armstrong Easter Offering goes directly to North American church planters and missionaries. They are spreading the gospel across our nation and continent. The team is excited to help lead GSBC in being “a going church for the coming Christ.”
